When recently refurbishing our home and deciding on our options for the new kitchen, we had not given much thought to the type of kitchen lighting fixtures that should be installed. Originally, we focused on appliances and cabinet layouts. After consulting with a few kitchen design experts we learned that it was just as important to spend time considering what kitchen lighting fixtures to install. I realize now just how important these are and what a difference they have made to the entire kitchen! We were so pleased to have been offered such excellent help from our professional kitchen planning expert, who not only helped us design the most amazing kitchen around our available space, they also gave excellent advice on the most superb kitchen lighting fixtures that were eventually added. We are sure that they helped us to save money creating a space in our home that is both useful and beautiful.

At times when you don't want to undertake your kitchen remodel as a solo project, it is best to call in the professionals. Working with someone who knows more about kitchens than you can be advantageous. A certified kitchen designer, remodeler or contractor has more knowledge about the specifics of kitchens and all the products and features that go with. He or she is someone you can approach for advice and assistance. A good kitchen designer should listen to you and should not impose his or her own style choices on your kitchen. What's more, he or she should understand your vision of an ideal kitchen and will help you fulfil it.

For contemporary kitchens, the trend has moved towards flat panel doors with no detail. An extension of this is the move towards handless doors, and this is going to continue in 2011 with many more homeowners choosing handless kitchens. Even with classical or traditional kitchen styles, the door designs are more simple than before, with many designers using shaker style doors, even with in-frame kitchens. This gives off a very classic bespoke look.

Now...I'm discussing this portion last because different clients use their kitchens differently, and every person has their own taste. I'm not talking about the size (although it's related), but how many people they want in a kitchen. Some clients want everyone in the kitchen, including guests and relatives, to help in cooking or processing the meal, which means a larger kitchen to handle the people. Others don't want anyone but a few people in kitchen, so they're not tripping over people to get the meal finished, which means a smaller more efficient kitchen.

Combine both of the above with perfectly positioned halogen ceiling lights, directed to the most commonly used areas. This provided us with a safe and well-lit environment around the stove and above the sink and serving areas. The kitchen lighting fixtures used have become a vital addition to our kitchen that we hope will provide satisfaction to our family for many years to come.

In an \"open floor plan\" concept, this 8\" of height hides a \"messy\" kitchen counter from view to the other rooms. It also gives you plenty of room for multiple electric outlets in the in the 6\" wall areas. The 6\" tall wall is the right height for 6\" ceramic wall tile. The upper counter is 44\" (elbow height) a perfect height for \"leaning\". This allows your guests to \"lean\" on the counter (out of the kitchen) and talk with you while you're preparing food (in the kitchen). It's also a good height for serving food or for tall stools as a breakfast bar. Not all of the upper counters have to be the some width. Some sections may be 9\" wide (just a top to the kitchen partition, while other sections of the upper counter can be 24'' wide, for serving food or as a breakfast bar.
